The Historical Peabody Hotel

These are pictures of the Peabody Hotel. This hotel is very pretty and very expensive but is definatlely a must see if you ever go to Memphis. My dad took us out to eat while I was here and it cost $263!!! But... it was well worth it... we got to meet the Manager and the Executive Chef Jeffrey Quasha of the Capriccio Grill. The Executive Chef is only 28 years old... made me hate that I didn't follow my dream of taking Culinary Arts... Anyrate.. It was awesome! Hear are some of the pictures..

This is a picture of the Capriccio Grill.

These are pictures of the Duck Palace... the Second picture is actually the room that houses all of the airconditioners/heaters... but it is directly in from of the Duck Palace... can you believe these ducks are treated so well!!! Check out the Legend of the Ducks.

These are just pictures from the top of the Peabody.

My Animals!!!

Now that I got my camera going I'm picture happy! I took some pictures of my dog Rowdy and my horses Jazz, Rain, and Bo.....

This is Rowdy looking like he is innocent! Believe me... he's not... that's why his name is Rowdy!

And here's Bo... he's my fat lazy 14 year old horse.... the best kind!!! Good with anyone who gets on him...

This is Jazz... I just sold her to my roommate for his son but she gets a little fiesty every now and then so I may trade him Bo and keep Jazz for me... she is a 5 year old.

Finally... this is Rain... she is my roommates horse... 5 years old and hopefully pregnant! I'm hoping she has me a Palimino Paint to add to my collection... recently added to the collection is a Palamino Paint Stud but I don't have the fence to keep him away from the mares... he will be guilded soon and hopefully brought to the house!

Here is all of them doing what they do best..... eating!!! And my little cottage in the country... well... aside from the highway that runs right beside the house...

The sharing of culture....

This is one of my favorite songs... it is a Mvskoke Creek Hymn that they sing at my church. I have been learning the words to this song and figured I would share it with you... It's amazing that the tradition is still there and I feel privileged to be able to be a part of it! I want to share with you the beauty of a language that, like many others, is slowly dying.

The elders at my church are trying to teach us younger people these hymns so that their use will continue when they have passed on.

Hear it!: Heleluyvn

Lyrics:

Heleluyn yvhikvres,
Hele Heleluyvn, Heleluyvn
Yvhikvres Hele Heleluyvn

Mekosapvlket mimvn vpokes
Hele Heleuyvn

Heleluyvn Yvhikvres, Hele
Heleluyvn, Heleluyvn Yvhikvres
Hele Helelyvn

Jason... a Sunday School Teacher??????

Whew! I was at church the other day and the need for a Sunday school teacher for the Teenagers came to light... I volunteered....

Soo... I am about to embark on a new, and I'm sure, enlightning journey. I have never done this before... but figured one thing is for sure! Someone, whether it be me or the kids, will learn something.

I have thought on this... I'm nervous... I worry about whether I will be able to stay interesting... keep the kids interested.... stimulate their imaginations, their involvment, their spirits.... Hopefully.... with some prayers... and a some prepartion on research on my part... all goes well... I will keep you posted...

Keep me in your prayers!!

WOOOHOOOO!

Wow.... I asked Elizabeth and she told me to do exactly what I have done over and over.... so I go back and try it... guess what... it freakin works! Thanks Elizabeth!!!!! So... here are some more pictures... it's not all of them... some of my dear friends and family I don't have pictures of... but I promise as time permits... I will post them... until next time... enjoy...
